Lymington

Lymington is a renowned sailing resort with an excellent selection of independent shops, public houses and restaurants. It has a large Saturday market where you'll find a good selection of stalls selling all sorts - food, clothes, bric-a-brac and much more. At the bottom of the high street, a narrow cobbled road winds its way down to the Old Town Quay where you can watch the fishermen and sailing boats or fish for crabs. Walking a little further, past the marina, you will arrive at the outdoor, Roman sea-water swimming baths, where you can enjoy a swim - weather permitting of course!

The town is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty and attractions. To the south you have the Isle of Wight (car and passenger ferry from the town itself) and to the north the ancient woodlands and heathlands of the New Forest.

There are plenty of attractions nearby including Beaulieu (House, Garden and National Motor Museum), Bucklers Hard (18th century shipbuilding village and Maritime Museum) and Hurst Castle.

Particularly for children Marwell Zoo and Paultons Family Park (Peppa Pig World) are not far away.

If you are activity minded then there are many great opportunities in and around the area - walking (the coastal path & New Forest trails), horse riding, sailing, fishing, cycling, golf and more.

Finally, if you want to explore slightly further afield Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester are only around 30-60 minutes by car or train, making Lilies a really excellent holiday base.
